What is Barr Ultra?
Barr Ultra is a membership community brimming with folks who spend a lot of time behind bars, handlebars that is!
We are a community of cyclists who like to test themselves over challenging and varied terrain. Some ride. Some race. Some want to do more of both.
What binds us is our desire to find others just like us, our ultra tribe so to speak.
Together we can learn stuff that make us go further, faster….fearless.
Do I have to pay to join?
Your leadership team have a wealth of experience and expertise and we want to share it but like most membership communities, that comes at a price. We have worked hard to define a range of benefits that we believe matches that price. There are tangibles, such as a kit and discounts on various products and services, but there are also less quantifiable elements of support. Combined, we’re confident that the benefits will help you reach your goals.
The great news is we have three tiers of memberships, each with different and fabulous benefits, so we’re confident you can find one that fits for you.
One thing is guaranteed, just like you have to work hard to deliver a great performance, we’ll be working hard to deliver value every mile.
How do I join?
When you have decided on your membership level just hit the JOIN NOW button.
If you’re applying to become part of our Project or Racing Membership you’ll be taken to a contact form where you get to tell us a little more about YOU. One of the leadership team will organise a ‘meet and great’ chat and we’ll go from there.
If you’re applying to become part of the Academy Membership you can join right then and there through our PayPal system.
If you don’t want to pay by Paypal then email Jill or Marc @barrultra.com We’ll get right back to you.
If the memberships tiers are full, you can put yourself on the waiting list. We anticipate opening membership spots regularly.
How do I pay?
We take most payments through Paypal because we have members from all over the world. If, however, you want to arrange payment through bank transfer or other means email jill@barrultra.com
Do I have to be a good rider or racer to join?
No, we don’t measure anyone by their success or sense of ‘good’. We are a friendly bunch and know that endurance cycling covers a huge range of distances and many styles of riding. We also know that there are many reasons to ride. However,
if you’re driven to keep the bike moving forward over longer distances then you are one of us!
Just go through the membership tiers and find the one that is most suited to you.
Do I have to wear my Barr Ultra kit when I race?
Nope, you can wear what you want, it’s your race! We’d like to think that you’d be proud to stand with your team members and us with you but rest easy, there’s no requirement.
Can I add my own sponsors to the Barr Ultra kit?
Yes of course you can. You’ll see that Joe has his sponsors on there so, as a Racing or Project Member, we’d be happy to supply you with the Barr Ultra logo and you can have your kit designer or our kit designer work with you.
Can I change my membership tier?
Yes of course!
When it becomes time to renew your membership you can go up or down a tier as long as a spot is open but if you’re already part of our community, rest assured you will be given priority.
I love the Barr Ultra kit, can I just buy that?
No. But the kit is great isn’t it!
Barr Ultra kit is one of the perks of being a Supporting/Sponsoring/Project Members and Racing Members.
I don’t want the 3 hours of mentoring in the Racing Membership, will that reduce my cost?
You don’t have to use the three hours of mentoring immediately, but we’re confident that the time will come when they will be of great value to you. If you are that confident that you can reach your goals on your own, then those goals aren’t as much of a stretch as they could be! Just tuck those hours away for the time you have a burning question, or an obstacle in front of your goal that you didn’t anticipate.
How do I apply for a Barr Ultra Scholarship?
We’re excited about this membership as many of us wish we had learned a few things faster so we didn’t have to suffer as much or DNF as much! While this is all part of progression, we’d like to remove some of those performance obstacles for
you.
So, just head on over to the Scholarship Membership button and you’ll be taken to a contact form where you get to tell us a little bit more about you, your goals and why you love to ride.
If I am already a part of a racing team, or have other sponsor affiliations, will a membership in Barr Ultra create any conflicts?
We understand that many of us have existing relationships with teams and/or sponsors. Our intent is to add value by the formation of a community and the access to expertise that can bring. If you’d like to race in a Barr Ultra kit, that is certainly welcome, but not required. The same applies to any product sponsorships you may currently enjoy.
